Frequently Asked Questions

CARPET CLEANING

How often should I clean my carpets?

Carpets should be cleaned every 6-12 months even if they don’t appear to be dirty or soiled. Cleaning removes harmful bacteria, dust mites and allergens, creating a healthier environment for you, your family and your pets. Regular cleaning also maximises your carpet’s lifespan.

How long till I can walk on the carpet?

It depends on the type of carpet, how soiled it is, and what the weather is like. Some carpets can dry in under 1 hour, whereas others may take 3-6 hours to dry completely. The key to a fast drying time is rapid evaporation which can be achieved with our air movers, keeping windows open or turning ceiling fans on. It is important to limit foot-traffic until the carpets are dry.

Will you move the furniture?

When necessary we will move small furnishings and return them to their original position after cleaning. Our technicians will not move any furniture or household object if they don’t feel confident in moving it without your knowledge or consent.

What is included in the cost?

All jobs are quoted according to the task, and how often we are needed to perform it. Variations such as materials and equipment are taken into consideration when calculating the final cost after we have measured the areas to be serviced. Moving basic furniture, carpet pre-treatment, stain treatment, sanitising and deodorising are all included with your carpet service.

PET STAIN AND ODOUR CONTROL

I've just had my carpets cleaned but the odour is still present?

Your cleaners may have missed some spots or didn’t steam through the carpet underlay effectively. Our special black light identifies urine, bodily excretions and fluids not visible to the naked eye. Our expert technicians and powerful steam techniques thoroughly remove all stains and odours associated with faeces and urine.

RUG CLEANING

Can you remove all the stains from my rug?

We have a much better chance of removing the stain if no one has tried to remove the stain prior to our arrival. Time is of the essence in stain removal. Please call us as soon as possible when a spill or accident happens and it will greatly increase the chances of us bringing your rug back to perfect condition.

How often should I clean my rug?

It depends on how much traffic the rug gets. We recommend every 1-3 years, and more often if you have pets, smoke, or have an allergy or respiratory issues.

Some of the colours on my rug have run?

Sometimes a colour bleed can become permanent. Our dye removal processes work extremely well to gently restore a bleed area to its original colour and bring the rug back to its former glory.

Do I have to be home?

No, our police checked and insured technician can still get the job done if it’s inconvenient for you to be at home, or we can pick up your rug and take it to our state-of-the-art rug washing laundry facility where it will undergoes an extensive multi-layered rug cleaning process for maximum soil removal.

TILES AND GROUT

How do you clean them?

We start by applying a cleaning agent to the floor which begins to release the built-up soiling from the tiles and the grout. We then blast it clean with a high-pressure rotary tool, which has a powerful vacuum to control overspray. Your floors will be dry in minutes.

Why should I have my tiles and grout cleaned?

Just like carpet, dirt builds up on tiles over time and has a dulling effect on their appearance. A thorough, professional tile and grout cleaning is the best way to thoroughly remove the deep-down, impacted dirt on the surface of the tile grout lines.

Foot traffic, pets, children, and routine floor maintenance will affect how often you need to have your tiles professionally cleaned. We recommend every 1-2 years.

Should I have my grout lines sealed?

Grout is an extremely porous material that absorbs soil, oils and spills. Professionally sealed grout lines are better protected from liquid spills, giving you more time to wipe up the spill before it soaks in and stains. The type of sealant you choose will determine the degree of stain resistance.

UPHOLSTERY CLEANING

How do you clean upholstered furniture?

Our powerful steam extraction process provides the deepest yet most gentle cleaning method possible for upholstery. Some delicate fabrics will require a lower moisture process. Our expert technicians will choose the best process to protect the upholstery.

How long will it take?

This depends on how soiled the furniture is and the type of fabric used on it. We would recommend anywhere from 2-3 hours to do a 3-seater lounge and 2 single recliners as a guide.

How long till it dries?

Our powerful equipment and superior training means we can dry your upholstery quickly. It will usually take between 1-2 hours.

MATTRESS CLEANING

How often should I have my mattresses cleaned?

We recommend mattresses are professionally cleaned every 6-12 months. The average human sheds approximately 3.6 kilograms of dead skin each year. Spending a third of our life in bed means that a lot of it ends up in our bedding, increasing the risk of allergies over time, and providing a food source for dust mites (yuk!).

WATER AND FLOOD RESTORATION

We’re flooded! What do I do?

The first thing you should do – if possible, and if it can be done safely – is stop the source of the water. Then call us ASAP! We are available 24/7 to help you through any emergency.

Time is of the essence! The longer water remains in contact with your carpet and structure the more problems and damage it can cause.

WARNING:

  • Never use any type of vacuum cleaner or electrical device in a flooded area. It could result in electric shock.
  • Don’t walk on wet carpets or the affected areas more than necessary
What if it’s the weekend?

In the event of a flood, time is critical. We have trained water damage and microbial remediation technicians ready to assist you 24/7.

Do I have to keep your equipment running?

Yes! Please don’t touch, move or adjust any of the equipment we have set up. Our equipment closely monitors the drying process on your site. Based on this data, we may move, add or remove equipment to achieve the best results and quickest drying time.

How much will this add to my electricity bill?

We use the most technologically advanced and efficient equipment so your site will dry more quickly and be more economical. The real cost will probably be no more than a few dollars per day.

Will my insurance cover the water damage?

This depends on the insurance company your policy is with, the type of cover that you have, the source of the damage, (i.e. whether it was a natural disaster like a flood, or if it was caused by a burst pipe, etc). The insurance company will also want to make sure that you took the necessary precautions to try and prevent the situation.
